Visiting Cozumel. Having a Great Cozumel Vacation.

Some people do not associate shopping with a Mexican vacation, and I cannot understand why. The streets are flooded with merchants with unique pieces of jewelry at very affordable prices. It’s almost a sin not to shop! Cozumel, in particular, is one of the best places to shop.

The shop owners and people are very respectful and accommodating to tourists there. Be sure to have your hustle on though because they will expect you to barter your goods. In Cozumel there’s a main strip to shop. Most of the cruise ships dock there and do their ventures so make sure you go deep within the city so that you get the less “commercialized” shops. Chedraui is a superstore in the downtown area where you can get food, clothes, alcohol. It is very similar to a Kmart or Target. All of those last minute forgotten items like toothpaste, razors and suntan oil can be found there.

Cinco Soles showcases jewelry, souvenirs, Mexican crafts, pottery, tequila and more can be found there. If you’re traveling with the Mrs. Then you may want to take her to the women’s boutique inside around the tequilas. No bartering is done here but it’s still really affordable so you won’t have a problem spending the cash.

Mexico is known for their vanilla spice. It’s native to Mexico so make sure you pick up some extract while you’re there. Not all vanillas are labeled so make sure you do your homework to find out which one of the extracts are the purest.

Once you’re done with all the shopping then you can check in to Casita Maya Hotel. It’s walking distance from the Cozumel International airport. Relaxation is a given. You can stay connected there by their High speed internet provided in each room and relax by their crystal blue pool right outside your room. The average daily rate is only $72 a night and well worth it! They even provide child care, laundry service, bar/lounge and air conditioning. The rooms are decorated in a typical Mexican décor with colorful rooms sure to make everyday a happy stay.

Wake up every morning to sunshine and free continental breakfast. They also offer activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, boating and night clubs. Who said you have to venture out and explore all of Mexico? Stay in Cozumel for a while, they have everything you need right in town only walking distance away.
